Out of Sight 2015
Out of Sight is an annual survey of contemporary art in the Pacific Northwest exhibited in the historic neighborhood Pioneer Square in Seattle, Washington. Running concurrent and adjacent to the Seattle Art Fair, it populates over 18,000 square feet with new directions, bold visions, and emerging talents reflecting the diversity and breadth of creativity that activates this region.

Made from a personal video still, this drawing depicts a time, when, while convalescing from an injury and unable to go to my studio, I began to rethink my art practice. This led me to consider Nauman’s 1973 video, Elke Allowing the Floor to Rise Up Over Her, Face Up, depicting a woman lying on the floor for a half hour, as she feels herself sinking.
